_______________
Step1 Touch up To edit text in PDF files, Adobe Acrobat & Acrobat Professional have a TouchUp Text tool for small text modifications. As you add or delete text, it will not reflow the text in the entire column. Use this only if there is no way to edit the original source file and recreate a PDF file .
Step2
In order to delete pages, change their order or rotate them, Adobe Acrobat can do all of this but there are most likely cheaper solutions around.
Step3
There are numerous ways to merge PDF files together into one file. Acrobat Professional 8 has a dedicated ‘Combine files’ menu option in the ‘File’ menu. Using the ‘Insert pages’ menu option is only practical if you want to merge just a handful of files. If you need to combine a large number of files which use consecutive file names, simply open the first file, make sure the Pages navigation pane is visible and use drag and drop to copy all other files to this file.
Step4
Another method is to use your prepress workflow itself to merge files. Create a job that contains the total number of pages, add all PDF files and then do an ‘Export’ out of ApogeeX.
Step5
To convert a PDF file from color to black&white, you can use some Acrobat plug-ins. I use PitStop but prefer Quite-a-box-of-tricks which seems to be both faster and reliable.
