_______________
A job as an agent with the FBI, known as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, seems like it would be the perfect opportunity. Who would not want to spend their time working on interesting top secret cases and working for the top Federal agency in the United States?
The FBI offers a variety of jobs in many divisions such as special agents, linguists, hostage rescue team, staff and many more. However, there are strict requirements one must meet in order to apply with the FBI. It is a very competitive agency since the FBI only takes an extremely small amount of candidates every year.
Applicants must be between 23 years and 36 years old to qualify. You must have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of related work experience for the division you are applying since the FBI has several divisions including accounting and finance, science, law and law enforcement. For example, experience in law enforcement or the military if you want to work in the division of law or in science if you want to work in forensics.
You must be able to pass strict background checks, medical and physical exams, and psychological exams. A sought out skill from applicants is fluency in several languages. You must also be a US citizen or citizen of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Some things will automatically disqualify you from applying. These things are conviction of a felony, illegal drug use in violation of the FBI’s employment drug policy, default of a government student loan, failure of a FBI administered drug test, and for males only failure to register with the Selective Service.
